After waiting 22 months a new arrival at Elephant Hills

Elephant Hills run a number of properties we use in Thailand, such as Elephant Hills Tented Camp. They have just informed me of a new edition to their staff after a 22 month wait. “Ha Ha” (meaning 55 in Thai – the current year is 2555 in the Buddhist calendar) is a baby female elephant.

Elephant Hills operates a unique ‘elephant experience’ for visitors, allowing interaction with both the animals and their handlers. This is a more responsible direction for elephant tourism within Thailand.

Audley also supports a number of local charities in Southeast Asia, such as Elephants Livelihood Initiative Environment (ELIE), which rescues and treats domestic elephants in Cambodia.
