Last Friday was the Audley summer party, and for the second year running we had various inflatable obstacle courses, but with an Olympic theme this time. Teams dressed up as different countries and everyone took to the games with great gusto!
The aim was to raise money for the spinal injuries charity Aspire. There was an ice cream van, bumpy castle, barbecue and face painting to keep the spectators amused, while the competitors threw themselves down inflatable slides and hurdles covered in foam and water to collect various flags and hoops.
Team China won the trophy and the party carried on into the early hours, with local band ‘Breeze’ playing lots of great music and for non-dancers, a bonfire to keep everyone warm.
Through its projects and programmes, Aspire offers practical support to the 40,000 people living with a spinal cord injury in the UK so that they can lead fulfilled and independent lives in their homes, with their families, in work places and in leisure time. Audley raised £455 from this year’s party to be donated to the charity.
