Sky High Tokyo
World’s tallest tower now open
May 2012 saw the ‘Skytree’ become the latest addition to Tokyo’s impressive skyline. Standing at 634m, it dominates the Sumida and Asakusa areas of Tokyo and is officially the world’s tallest tower.
Three-and-a-half years in the making, the Skytree’s main function is to improve broadcasting transmissions across Tokyo, but the development is also home to a plethora of restaurants, shops and offices.
For those with a head for heights, the two observatories at 350m and 450m offer amazing views over Tokyo. Tickets can be purchased on the day and cost between £15 and £25.
